In 2000, the family's olive grove in Lala, on the plateau of Phol\u00f3\u0113, passed into our hands. Our dream, which then became reality, was to continue the tradition and for the olive grove to remain alive, with its own wild olives, with the \"Olympia\" olives and some other local varieties, without using any kind of medicine, following the principles of homodynamics.
Our love for a sustainable environment with zero environmental footprint is what drives us in every step we take.

The extra virgin organic olive oil of Olympia from Centaur Olive Groves, the \"green gold\" of the Greek land, is a product of high quality and unique nutritional value. Our sunny olive groves dominate in an amphitheatrical position on the plateau of Phol\u00f3\u0113, in the area of Ancient Olympia, in a pure ecological system. There, the winds do not allow moisture to develop micro-organisms and insects, which may be detrimental for the olive tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are grown in virgin soil, protected by terraces and surrounded by forest and cultivated with the method of homodynamics, while they are certified by TUV Hellas.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMORE<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The History of the Olive Tree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mythology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to mythology, goddess Athena donated the world's first olive tree to the Athenians during the struggle between the gods for the city's patron saint. According to the myth, the olive tree grew where Athena struck her pole. But Hercules, after completing his 12 feats, also planted an olive tree at the temple of Hera in ancient Olympia, from which the Cotinus, the wreath with which the winners of the Olympic Games were crowned, was made.

Going back in history, the Mycenaeans offered olive oil to the gods, Hippocrates used it as a medicine, while Aristotle considered the cultivation of the olive tree a science.

Valuable nutritional value
Olive oil is the basis of the Mediterranean diet and one of the healthiest foods. Its rich content of monounsaturated fats and antioxidants protects the body from oxidative stress, an important factor in ageing. Numerous studies show that it is also associated with a reduction in cardiovascular disease, 'bad cholesterol', triglycerides as well as blood pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMORE<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Production<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The olive groves of Centauri produce top quality extra virgin olive oil, a product of biodynamic cultivation, certified by TUV Hellas. The olive trees grow in virgin soils on the plateau of Phol\u00f3\u0113, in the area of Ancient Olympia. The varieties cultivated are Koroneiki, Agrielia and Olympia. After harvesting the fruit, crushing of olive branches takes place, resulting in the production of organic matter that provides biological fertilization of the soil.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMORE<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2021<\/strong> \u2013 Gold Award from the International Biol Competition. In 2021 we received the Gold Award for Organic Olive Oils at the International Competition in Italy.
